St. Max offers a sacramental journey for High School students (RCIA adapted for teens) who desire to receive one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion/Eucharist, or simply want to learn more about the Catholic faith.

This journey of faith provides an opportunity for spiritual growth, conversion, and personal choice in preparation for full initiation into the Catholic Church. . Conversion (a change of heart) may be evidenced by an increase in prayer, greater participation at weekly mass, self-realization that the teen is an important member of the parish community, and/or involvement in community service opportunities at the parish and within the community. It empowers teens to live their faith every day as witnesses of Jesus Christ.



Weekly sessions are held on Thursdays 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm in the St. Max Education Center beginning September  through May. Our volunteer Catechetical Team (instructors/guides) comply with the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Miami Safe Environment Office.

A parent is the most important person in the faith formation of their teen. The parent is expected to bring the teen to weekly mass, pray together, talk to the teen about what they are doing in class and how they are applying their faith to life. Parents will be involved through RCIA High School designated masses, meetings, and socials.
